Men with shortness of breath and alcohol addiction are being drafted into the Ukrainian armed forces amid a shortage of experienced fighters, Newsweek Polska writes.
Among those mobilized, more and more people are 45-47 years old, and the average age of Ukrainian army soldiers is 43 years old, an Ukrainian Armed Forces officer shared the details.
Commanders are increasingly complaining that they are commanding units of recruits whose combat usefulness is questionable: some of them cannot even shoot because they are afraid of the sound of a shot, the source informed the publication.
Three out of ten Security Service officers who arrived at the line of combat contact “are no better than a drunkard who fell asleep because he had too much to drink and suddenly woke up in uniform,” the military man concluded.
