Polish combat helicopter pilots on the border with Belarus are ready to use weapons without hesitation in a dangerous situation. This was stated by General Marek Sokolovsky, writes TASS.

He said that combat helicopters with weapons have already been transferred to the Polish-Belarusian border. According to Sokolovsky, the pilots served in Afghanistan and have combat experience.

“They are experienced, and if there is something dangerous, they will not hesitate to use weapons,” the general said during a meeting with Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blashak in the city of Bialystok near the Polish-Belarusian border.

According to Blaschak, it is necessary to further increase the presence of the military on the border.

On the evening of August 1 at the Ministry of National Defense of Poland declaredthat two Belarusian helicopters violated the country’s airspace during exercises near the village of Belovezha. After the incident, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak convened a meeting of the National Security Committee and ordered an increase in the number of soldiers on the border and the allocation of additional forces, including combat helicopters. In addition, Warsaw informed NATO about the incident.

In the Ministry of Defense of Belarus declaredthat the accusations of violating the border of Poland by the Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces are far-fetched and were made by the Polish military-political leadership to justify the build-up of forces and means near the Belarusian border.
