In Petrozavodsk, a teacher with 48 years of experience disgraced students – “bad guys”

Petrozavodsk was stirred up by the scandalous homework assignment for second-graders. The mother of one of the students of the school said that the children were ordered to write down on a piece of paper the names and characteristics of classmates whom they considered bad. And later these bad guys were “hung out” in the wall newspaper.

“I want to note that these are children of 7-8 years old. Who do not have a stable psyche, – the mother of the second-grader, who made the news public, is worried. – I consider it a crime when a class teacher engages in bullying. Instead of rallying the team, she finds “outcasts” in the class…

True, there were among the parents and defenders of the honored teacher. For example, a mother of three children, each of whom studied with a teacher, claims from the words of her daughter that “it was not quite like that.” Like, the teacher in the class explained that newspapers and magazines are different, including satirical ones. And what are the cartoons. To understand the essence of satire, the teacher arranged a survey in which the children were included. And they began to “point the finger”: who in the class always has a “mouth to ear”, who chews in class or draws on desks.

Such a “creative” teacher – what is called the “old guard”. Teaching experience is 48 years, she used to work in a gymnasium, so the standards for academic performance are high. She, one might say, is the teacher of “stars and nominees” at school. He has a badge “Excellent worker of education” and a diploma of the Karelian Legislative Assembly.

“All last year in the first grade, the “honored teacher” bullied children,” says Irina, the mother of a child who used to study with a teacher. – About half of the class had problems. Constant stress, tears, reluctance to go to school. She generally recognizes only “wise men and clever women” to whom knowledge is given without problems.

Some, including my son, were openly told that we belonged in a correctional school. Although he studied well, he was just a restless and active child.

As the assessments began – deuces-triples, all notebooks are streaked with red. Promises to leave for the second year … We turned to the administration and even wrote a complaint to the local department. “We” is at least 10 parents from the class. And in response, silence.

They have a teacher in good standing, and the school itself too. There are cadet classes and participation in competitions, all that. As a result, we transferred to another school before finishing 1st grade yet. And immediately the child calmed down, he got fours and fives. Other parents waited until the end of the year and transferred. It is impossible to study when the teacher divides the class into comfortable and uncomfortable, black and white. Moreover, she openly talks about it with other children, in fact, she is engaged in bullying herself.

About the inadmissibility of the “divide and conquer” policy on the part of the teacher and the danger of school bullying, “MK” spoke with the system and family psychologist Ekaterina Shabelskaya.

– In almost every class there are guys who are bullied by their peers. School bullying does not always take the form of physical abuse. Most often, bullying is expressed in the psychological suppression of the victim. Insults and offensive nicknames, unfounded accusations and refusal to communicate are very painful for a child. The task of the school is to deal with this problem, because a favorable microclimate in the children’s team is as important as the quality of education.

Unfortunately, sometimes teachers themselves provoke students to mock classmates, allowing caustic remarks and cruel methods of education. For example, in one Russian school, a teacher forced a child to brush his teeth in front of the whole class as punishment for foul language. Or like this, “name bad classmates” to make a board of shame. Such actions are not allowed. Especially in elementary school, where the words of the teacher have great power, since they are spoken by an adult and respected person – the second most important after the parents. Bullying, low grades and bias on the part of the teacher traumatize the child and undermine his self-confidence. Surrounding children quickly read and adopt such an attitude, the result is bullying.

If you start the situation, the consequences of bullying can be depressive-anxiety disorders and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). During adolescence, when peer recognition is especially important, school bullying can cause self-harm (self-harm) or even lead to suicide.

Parents need not only to monitor the progress of their children, but also to be attentive to their psychological state. If your son or daughter tries to skip classes, does not have permanent friends, becomes irritable and anxious, you should be wary. Perhaps the child is faced with rejection of the school team and needs support. The problem will not resolve itself. The first thing to do is to establish contact with the child so that he trusts you and shares his experiences. The next step is to discuss the current situation with the teacher, offer their help and develop a plan for further action. Your main goal is to help the child to join the team and gain self-confidence.
