In Orsk, 132 patients were evacuated from medical facilities due to the threat of flooding

There are eight medical facilities in the flood zone in the city of Orsk, Orenburg Region; patients were transferred to other hospitals, said Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexey Kuznetsov.

“There are currently 8 healthcare facilities in the flood zone, 132 inpatients have been transferred to other medical facilities. There are enough beds for patients,” Mr. Kuznetsov told reporters (quoted by TASS).

On April 5, a dam broke in Orsk. 4 thousand residential buildings, in which about 11 thousand residents live, as well as 11 socially significant objects, fell into the flooding zone with water from the Ural River. 1,164 people were evacuated from the city, including 336 children. The authorities deployed 11 temporary detention centers with a capacity of more than 8 thousand people.
