The water level in the Ural River near Orenburg dropped by 18 cm, to 1169 cm, and near Orsk – to 620 cm, the Hydrometeorological Center told TASS. Over the course of a day, the number of flooded areas in Orenburg increased to 10.6 thousand, houses – to 5.5 thousand, the city administration reported.
“1,708 people were evacuated from flooded areas, 170 of whom were children. The number of evacuees over the past 24 hours has increased by 28 people, four of whom are children. 297 people remain in temporary accommodation centers, including 96 children. Over the past 24 hours, 33 more people arrived at the TAP,” it follows from press release authorities. 400 people and 113 pieces of equipment are involved in rescue operations.
On April 6, a federal emergency was declared in the Orenburg region. More than 14.3 thousand residential buildings and 21.5 thousand household plots were flooded in the region, 16.5 thousand people were evacuated. Since the beginning of April, floods in Russia have already affected 34 regions, in the Kremlin called the situation is very tense.
