On February 12, the VI Arctic Charity Volleyball Tournament Yamal Governor’s Cup 2023 kicked off in the gas capital. This was announced on his pages in social networks by the head of the city Andrey Voronov.
“The tournament brought together all the cities and towns of our friendly region. This year we have a record number of teams – 32. We were glad to see our neighbors. Thank you for joining and being part of the grand opening of the tournament. We are all united by a common goal – to help seriously ill children in Yamal, ”the head of the municipality wrote.
Preliminary games until March 5 will be held in Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk and Labytnangi. The semi-finals and the gala match between the teams of the governor of the YNAO “Northern character” and the team of the captains of all teams “Leaders of Yamal” will be held from March 10 to 16 at the Zvezdny Sports Palace in the gas capital.
Traditionally, all proceeds will be transferred to the Yamine District Charitable Foundation. Such tournaments have been held in Yamal every year since 2018. During this time, more than 14 million rubles have been collected to help children with disabilities.
Recall that last year 30 teams took part in the tournament. First place took team of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg.
