In Novosibirsk, a whole class went on strike because of a conflict between a parent and a teacher

An unusual way of protesting against the “harassment of the teacher” was chosen by the parents of students of the 3rd “A” class of the gymnasium in Novosibirsk. Almost all the children in the class did not go to school on Monday-Tuesday. This is because the conflict between the mother of one of the students and the class teacher has been smoldering at school for a year and a half. The situation, which escalated to the limit, led to a strike of third-graders.

Parents organized a social protest “according to the classics”: on the eve they warned the school administration with a collective letter, duplicating it to the mayor’s office and separately to the local department of education. Requirements: save the class from the attacks of businesswoman Svetlana M., mother of 10-year-old Marya (name changed). Like, the woman does not allow the whole class to live and completely hounded the class teacher Natalya Bratkova. Or organize a separate class next year, where all 26 children will be transferred, except Marya. In general, the situation is revolutionary: the lower classes, read, students and their parents, can no longer, but the upper classes, that is, the school administration, do not want …

The conflict began in January 2022. Svetlana’s daughter, then a student of the 2nd grade, after a physical education lesson, went to ride on a hill in the school yard. The girl was pushed by a classmate, she abruptly moved out and fell on her back. The result was damage to the spine, after which little Masha was prescribed a corset.

“Yes, that’s where it all started,” recalls Masha’s classmate’s mother. – Svetlana decided that it was Natalya Vladimirovna’s fault, she didn’t see it. And she began to demand a public apology from her. The teacher was not carried on, she said that everything happened after the lessons. Svetlana then began scribbling 100 messages in the chat: “We need to remove Bratkova and not let her children in anymore.” Then let’s write complaints everywhere. I could come to school and yell at HB in front of everyone. Then, even before the children, she began to dig, stop, shout, what a bad teacher they have, that she should not teach children … We, the parents, wrote about this to the mayor’s office and the prosecutor’s office – all to no avail.

According to the parents, Svetlana’s feverish activity to protect her daughter did not weaken, so they simply stopped letting her go to school.

“Everyone began to wait for the school year to end,” adds another mother from 3A. – But it was not there. In the autumn it all started again. Found a scythe on a stone. Bratkova is also like that, noisy, active, don’t put your finger in her mouth. But, as if from the outside, this mother terrorized her. Do you know how collectors do it? Almost the same: she called early in the morning or late at night, wrote various things about her in chats, obscenity, obscenity and so on …

After more than a year of endless skirmishes, the story began to take its toll on the children. “Ten”, or the tenth gymnasium in Novosibirsk is considered a good strong school with traditions, after all, the gymnasium is 110 years old. The main thing that the school has always been famous for is its intelligent, “decent” atmosphere. And then there are protracted showdowns, as in the “dashing 90s.” In which other classes have already begun to participate. Masha, whose mother attacks everyone, they began to bale and push in the corridors. “This year there was an incident in the toilet, when high school girls ran over her“ for mother ”,” says one of the parents. Although adults emphasize that no one has any complaints about the girl personally, Masha is “smart and does not always support what her mother is doing.”

The result of the fact that both sides of the conflict were not heard, was a strike. “We can also hold a rally!” 3A parents warn.

We can say that the demarche parents from Novosibirsk have achieved their goal. There was a big commotion at school, Nadezhda Boltenko, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Novosibirsk Region, took the situation under personal control. She says that last year she wrote to the Department of Education about this conflict in gymnasium No. 10, asking to involve the prosecutor’s office, but “the situation has not changed.” But now, according to the Ombudsman, there will be a meeting with the participation of the prosecutor’s office, the regional Investigative Committee, the city department and the Ministry of Education.

“MK” also conducted an investigation and found out a number of details. The video from the school surveillance camera clearly shows that the girl was pushed down the hill. And the mother of the classmate who pushed her admitted the incident, having paid 16 thousand rubles for Masha’s treatment. Svetlana’s resentment was spurred not only by Bratkova’s unwillingness to apologize, but also by the teacher’s refusal to put on and take off the girl’s corrective corset, which Masha was prescribed by a doctor. Like, 30 people in the class, there is no time to wear corsets.

And only the position of the school administration remained unclear. “MK” tried to contact, but director Olga Shoydina was busy all the time, “dealing with just this situation” (said in the secretariat). Parents in their letters, by the way, complained about the inaction of the school administration.

“This whole situation reflects catastrophic legal illiteracy,” says lawyer Stanislav Popov. – Firstly, the school is responsible for everything that happens on its territory. And if a girl gets a back injury on school grounds, the administration is responsible for it. Mom had to first of all involve the management with the presentation of evidence of injury and compensation for damage. It is strange that a business woman does not understand this.

The class teacher, of course, did not have to apologize, but wrote a report to the director as soon as she found out about the incident. The teacher would be responsible for what happened only if he led the after-school group. Her refusal to take off and put on a corset for a girl is legally justified, she does not have the competence to do this.

The mother who pushed the boy paid compensation – quite acceptable in private. But the fact that the school denies and believes that since it fell after class, there is no responsibility – it’s amazing. There are Supreme Court decisions that say otherwise.
