In Novodvinsk, boxers will compete for awards at the regional championship

The Arkhangelsk region boxing championship among juniors and junior women, as well as boys and girls, has started. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Sports.
The competition is dedicated to the memory of the first boxing champion of the RSFSR from the Arkhangelsk region, Master of Sports of the USSR Boris Poryadin. At the grand opening, Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Sergei Pivkov addressed the athletes.
“The Arkhangelsk boxing school is one of the strongest in the North-West of the country,” noted the vice-governor. – Last year, the titles “Master of Sports of Russia” were awarded to Yaroslav Bezsolov and Kondrat Smolich, and Lada Yeskina became the winner of the national championship. The younger generation of athletes, looking at their famous fellow countrymen, also shows their best qualities and will to win in the ring. More than 200 athletes from Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk, Novodvinsk, Nyandoma, Mirny, Plesetsk, Velsk, Koryazhma, Kotlas, and the villages of Vychegodsky and Savinsky take part in the regional championship. Age categories: 19–22, 17–18, 15–16 and 13–14 years.
The program includes semi-final fights on January 27, final fights on January 28, and after the completion of the competition the winners will be awarded and the tournament will close.
