The head of the Norwegian Athletes’ Committee, Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Astrid Jacobsen, at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee, supported the return of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international tournaments. Support is reported by NRK.
Jacobsen, according to the source of the publication, expressed aloud the opinion that one should not be suspended from the competition based on what kind of passport the athletes have.
The IOC Executive Committee on the eve called for the return of athletes from the two states to international starts in a neutral status. At the same time, the organization proposed not to allow athletes who actively supported the SVO in Ukraine.
