In Moscow, willow began to bloom ahead of time

Blooming willow was noticed in the natural areas of Moscow by specialists from the Mospriroda State Budgetary Institution.
Fluffy balls on willow branches, a symbol of the approaching spring, can be seen in the Bitsevsky Forest, Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo natural and historical parks and the Dolgie Prudy faunal reserve, Mospriroda reported.
Experts attribute the early flowering of willow, or holly willow, to unusually warm weather. But if frost hits again, it will not hurt the trees – they will simply “fall asleep” until the next thaw.
By the way, last year willow blossomed also ahead of schedule, but at the very end of February. Usually it begins to bloom in March-April.
