The operation lasted about three hours
An ovarian tumor, inside which teeth grew, was discovered in their patient by specialists from the Research Institute named after. Sklifosovsky. Doctors gave the rare find as a souvenir to the operated woman.
As MK learned, a Muscovite turned to the Sklifosovsky Research Institute with complaints about the presence of a large hernial protrusion in the abdominal cavity. Three years ago she developed a small hernia, which at first did not cause concern, but over time its size reached 30 centimeters. However, doctors conducted a study and found that the patient was not worried about a hernia at all, but a teratoma (a tumor that arises as a result of abnormal development of embryonic cells and may contain hair, bones, teeth and other fragments of human flesh).
The operation to remove the ovarian tumor lasted about three hours. As a result, surgeons completely removed the 10-kilogram tumor along with the teeth that had grown inside it.
