In Moscow say goodbye to the last Secretary General of the USSR Gorbachev

In Moscow, in the Hall of Columns of the House of the Unions, a farewell ceremony is being held for the last General Secretary and the only President of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev came to say goodbye to him. Also, Mikhail Gorbachev said goodbye to his daughter Irina with her grandchildren and singer Alla Pugacheva.
A guard of honor was put up at the farewell ceremony for the first president of the USSR. It will last until noon.
A huge queue lined up near the House of the Unions. Entrance to farewell is free. Earlier it was reported that part of the press – “RIA Novosti”, “Izvestia”, VGTRK, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” was not allowed into the Hall of Columns.
Mikhail Gorbachev died on August 30 at the age of 91 after a long illness. He will be buried next to his wife Raisa at the Novodevichy cemetery.
