Since Thursday, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia has raised the level of weather danger in Moscow to the penultimate – “orange” – level.
The meteorological office warning is valid from 21:00 January 5 to 21:00 January 7. The reason is abnormally cold weather with an average daily air temperature of 9-17 degrees below the climatic norm.
Earlier it was reported that Muscovites from January 6 are waiting for record frosts with night temperatures down to minus 26 degrees.
On this occasion, the batteries in the residential buildings of the city, as stated by the deputy mayor of the capital, Peter Biryukov, will be heated to the maximum.
The “orange” level, in turn, means: the weather is dangerous, there is a possibility of natural disasters and damage.
