Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin conducted a technical launch of the northeastern section of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line (BKL) of the Moscow metro from Elektrozavodskaya station to Savelovskaya station. “The construction of the Big Circle Metro Line has entered its final stage. Today we are launching the northeastern section – a trial run. This is one of the most difficult sections in the history of metro construction. In the near future, before the end of the year, we will carry out technical launches of the eastern and southern sections. We will need to prepare for the launch of nine metro stations, 11 hauls. In addition, it will be necessary to complete and launch the two largest electric depots to operate the entire BCL complex,” the Moscow mayor said.
There are three stations on the northeastern section of the circle line: Sokolniki, Rizhskaya, and Maryina Roshcha. On the website of the Mayor of Moscow, it is noted that with the help of a technical launch, they will check the operability of automation devices, train traffic control, traction network devices, train and dispatch radio communications, and the operability of the life support system of the station.
According to Sergei Sobyanin, the BCL will be launched in the first quarter of 2023, all sites will open at the same time.
BKL “Elektrozavodskaya” – “Savelovskaya” has a length of 7.2 kilometers. The Maryina Roshcha station is located 72 meters underground, it will enter the top 3 of the deepest stations of the Moscow Metro with the longest escalator – 130 meters.
