Meteorologist Tishkovets: 25% of the monthly precipitation fell in Moscow over the past 24 hours
Meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets, in a publication on his Telegram channel, reported that 25% of the monthly precipitation fell in Moscow over the past 24 hours. In addition, according to him, in the Moscow region, 40% of the norm fell in one day, and in Tula – 67%, which was a record figure.
As the forecaster noted, over the past 24 hours, 11 millimeters of precipitation was recorded at the capital’s base weather station at VDNKh, 14 millimeters at Balchug, 13 millimeters at Moscow State University, and 7 millimeters at Tushino.
Tishkovets pointed out that in the Moscow region the greatest amount of precipitation fell in Serpukhov and Kashira – 15 millimeters, and 17 millimeters of precipitation fell in Kolomna, which amounted to 40% of the monthly volume.
He added that the rain gauge recorded the most in Tula, where a reading of 29 millimeters was reached, which is 67% of the total normal January precipitation. Tishkovets clarified that in Tula the daily rainfall record for the entire January, which had held since 2007 (19 millimeters), was broken.
