In Moldova, parliamentarians called Russia the main threat

The Parliament of Moldova adopted a new national security strategy. The document states that the main threat is Russia. The strategy was written by the current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. Back in October, she presented the project to the country’s Supreme Security Council.
According to the document, the United States of America becomes Chisinau’s key partner. In addition, the strategy consolidates an increase in defense spending. 59 deputies voted for the project. This was enough to make a decision.
Relations between Russia and Moldova began to deteriorate after Maia Sandu came to power. She positions herself as a pro-European politician. The bellicose rhetoric of the top leadership is not very popular with the Russian authorities. The Russian Foreign Ministry calls on Moldova to end confrontations.
