In memory of the Russian participants in the French Resistance

Today, May 5, on the eve of Victory Day, a traditional wreath-laying ceremony took place at the monument to the Russian participants in the French Resistance at the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris.
The ceremony was attended by Russian Ambassador to France A. Yu. Meshkov, Permanent Representative of Russia to UNESCO R. Zh. Alyautdinov, employees of Russian diplomatic missions, representatives of the Stop Russophobie association, the media, as well as concerned French citizens.
In total, more than 35,000 Soviet soldiers and Russian emigrants fought against the Nazis on French soil, of which more than 7,000 died in battles with the enemy.
