On the evening of September 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked Melitopol and Berdyansk in the Russian-controlled part of the Zaporozhye region, and the headquarters of the movement “We are together with Russia” was also damaged. This was announced by the chairman of the movement, a representative of the pro-Russian Military-Civilian Administration (VGA) of the region Vladimir Rogov.

“Shelling civilians in the evening and at night is all that Ukraine is capable of,” – wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

Later, he recorded a video outside the building of the affected headquarters, saying that no one was injured in the attack.

Rogov also added that the shelling occurred after the publication of survey data on the support of residents of the Zaporozhye region for a referendum on joining the Institute of Social Marketing (INSOMAR) into Russia.

From the results of this survey should71% of respondents in the Zaporozhye region supported joining Russia, 6% each wanted to remain part of Ukraine and gain independence, 17% found it difficult to answer. In the Kherson region, 63% of the inhabitants of the territories controlled by the Russian Federation would like to become part of Russia, 11% would prefer to remain part of Ukraine, 7% – to gain independence, another 19% – found it difficult to answer.

Yesterday Secretary of the United Russia General Council Andrey Turchak declaredthat it would be right to hold referendums in the Donbass and the liberated territories on November 4, a date that “unites us all in the space of the Russian world, which the inhabitants of Donbass and the liberated territories dream of.”

Russian troops took control of the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region and the Kherson region shortly after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. From that moment, the regions began to integrate into the legal and economic field of Russia. On May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine can apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
