The Snowboard Federation of Karelia has won a Presidential Grant for the implementation of its project “Snowboarding for all – towards the dream”, the press service of the head of the republic reports.
The project called for making a healthy lifestyle more popular among children. It will be attended by children aged 5 to 17 from families of three categories: large families, foster families and low-income families. Grant funds are planned to introduce snowboarding to about 160 young residents of Petrozavodsk, Medvezhyegorsk, Povenets and Kazhma.
Training takes place on the ski slope of the Medvezhyegorsk sports school. It is noted that the Federation receives positive feedback from the project participants, many young guys are showing interest in sports.
