The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced a citizen of Kyrgyzstan to 10 years in prison for participating in a military operation in Ukraine on the side of Russia. The accused is 31 years old, he is registered in Bishkek and took part in hostilities in the Donbass, the verdict says, published on the website of the Supreme Court of the Republic.
According to Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent), for 10 years the man worked as a laborer in Moscow, including at the Ozon warehouse. After that, the man opened his ticket office in Moscow near the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan, but in June 2022 he went bankrupt and closed his office. In order to reopen the business, he needed a Russian passport (the past IP was issued to a friend who flew home). According to him, in order to obtain citizenship, he decided to join the army.
In June 2022, he signed a contract in Bryansk and went on a special operation as part of a battalion from the LPR. He served as a gunner-operator in a motorized rifle unit as deputy commander of an infantry fighting vehicle with a salary of 180,000 rubles. As follows from the materials of the court, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan transported mortars and ammunition to the front line in the city of Soledar.
In November 2022, the man retired from military service, arrived in Moscow, and then in Bishkek, where he was detained. He pleaded not guilty and stated that he was not in Ukraine, but in the LPR, where he was engaged in providing food for military units. According to the man, he wrote a letter of resignation because he needed to return to Kyrgyzstan to care for his sick father.
According to the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, citizens of the republic are prohibited from participating in military conflicts of other states: violation of the law provides for imprisonment of up to 15 years.
