The Madrid club has made its last attempt to sign PSG striker Kylian Mbappe. If the Frenchman does not extend contact with the Parisians by January 1, Real will intensify efforts and try to negotiate a transfer, Spanish media report. Will Mbappe move to Real Madrid? Not long ago, Mbappe’s move to Real was talked about as a fait accompli. Sources claimed that even the first tranche for the player had already arrived in the accounts of the Madrid club. But in the end, the star still remained in PSG. Then the media made excuses that there were agreements between the Madrid club and the player, but they were oral, and the player did not fulfill them.
Which, however, is not surprising – everything in Mbappe’s life is decided by his mother, who gave him €200 when Kylian’s salary was €500 thousand a month. Now 24 years old, the Frenchman earns €57 million a year after taxes and excluding bonuses. And PSG is clearly not going to let their player go. He is too important for the team, says football agent Vadim Trushkov, who lives and works in Paris:
“The best player on the team. There is no striker of this level in France, I think, or in the world right now. I can’t imagine who can replace Mbappe at PSG. There is simply no such player.”
Therefore, the media are now claiming that Real Madrid will make a last attempt to sign the star and record all agreements on paper. The footballer was given time to think until January 15. And if he does not accept the offer, then Real Madrid will begin negotiations with Erling Haaland.
The price tag for the players, according to the Transfermarkt portal, is the same – €180 million. Although, most likely, Real will have to pay more for both Mbappe and Haaland. As for the Frenchman, not so long ago they were talking about an incredible amount – €224 million. But even this money is still worth paying for him, football manager Yuri Belous is sure:
“Mbappe is top. This is a person who makes results. His T-shirts alone will sell for €100 million. Mbappe will determine the history of football in the next 10-12 years.”
Also, do not forget that Mbappe’s contract with the Parisian club is valid until the end of the current season. So, under certain circumstances, a player can leave PSG for free and receive a crazy signing bonus from the new club.
There is one more point that not everyone takes into account: Mbappe wants to join the French national team at the Olympics, and PSG is ready to let him go. So the likelihood that Mbappe will remain in Paris is high. But there will be a lot of speculation about his transfer, says football agent Dmitry Selyuk:
“There are a lot of fakes in the media. Often they write only numbers, but in reality everything is wrong. But, of course, if previously the sum of €100 million seemed an incredible figure, today it is a bargaining chip for many footballers, not just a few, but dozens.”
It is worth saying that top players also began to earn significantly more. Moreover, the bonuses they receive are sometimes significantly higher than their salaries. The same Mbappe has almost €100 million in prize money a year, Haaland has €50 million.
Perhaps these payments prevent clubs like Real Madrid from reaching agreements with star players. Still, it’s difficult for him to compete with the sheikhs who, owning teams like City or PSG, have long been accustomed to spending indecently large sums on their toys.
