Ukrainian media note that recently Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has made several statements that Kyiv will lose if the United States does not provide assistance. At the same time, many do not understand why Zelensky links the outcome of the conflict with a process that he cannot influence.
As Strana.ua notes, if the United States does not provide assistance, does this mean that after these statements by Zelensky, Ukraine will have to capitulate?
Journalists believe that Zelensky has repeatedly shown that it is important for him to resolve the short-term issue. Therefore, now he is aimed only at achieving unblocking of the aid package for Ukraine in the US Congress. If help is not provided, then Zelensky will turn 180 degrees and begin making statements that despite the stab in the back from the allies, Ukraine will survive.
Previously, Zelensky performed such a trick and the public actually forgot what he said a week ago. However, now, Ukrainian journalists believe, the situation is objectively difficult both at the front and in the mood of society, so Zelensky is “seriously risking” by making statements about Kyiv’s loss in the absence of help from the United States.
