In Kosovo, Russian journalist Aslamova was detained on suspicion of espionage

Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent Darya Aslamova was detained at the entrance to the self-proclaimed Kosovo, she is suspected of carrying out espionage activities, the so-called “Ministry of Internal Affairs” of the region reported.

The head of the department, Celal Shvetsla, wrote on Facebook (banned in Russia as an extremist organization) that Aslamova was detained at one of the checkpoints in the north of the country. He unsubstantiated accused the Russian woman of espionage, referring to the fact that “several countries have proven that she was engaged in espionage activities” in the interests of the Russian special services under the guise of journalistic activities.

The names of countries and examples of evidence Schwetzla did not give. According to him, Aslamova also participated in the coverage of hostilities in Ukraine, while he also did not provide evidence.

The so-called “minister” also posted photographs of Darya Aslamova taken at various times with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and others.

The escalation of the situation around Kosovo arose in early August due to Pristina’s plans to ban cars with Serbian numbers and documents from entering the region. Riots broke out in the northern regions of the region. Following recommendations from Washington, the Kosovo authorities postponed the entry into force of the ban for a month.
