In Ivanovo, the investigation chose a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place for a woman born in 1951, who was detained the day before due to the arson of a ballot box at the city polling station No. 93. The criminal case is being investigated under Article 141 of the Criminal Code on obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights. The pensioner is a suspect in the case. The investigation interviewed eyewitnesses and examined CCTV cameras.

According to the region’s election commission, a woman threw a flammable liquid into a ballot box and set it on fire. The commission believes that the pensioner was “under the influence of threats from scammers.” The fire was quickly extinguished. The ballots from the destroyed ballot box were packed into a safe bag. It will be opened during the counting of votes.
