In Italy called a “fair” price for Russian gas

The EU should limit the cost of Russian gas purchases to 80 euros per MWh. As Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said, this is a “fair” price.
“If Putin raised the price of gas to more than 270 euros per MWh, it’s time to set a ceiling that says that you can’t exceed 80 euros,” the Italian Foreign Minister said.
Previously acting Prime Minister Mario Draghi said that Italy could completely stop importing Russian gas by the fall of 2024.
Meanwhile, Western countries began to discuss the possibility of imposing a so-called price ceiling on Russian energy resources in order to limit Russia’s profit from their sale.
The Hungarian authorities spoke out against this measure, saying that it could lead to a complete suspension of Russian gas supplies to Europe.
