Colonel Richter: Russian pressure will force the Ukrainian Armed Forces to surrender some cities in order to hold the front
Retired Bundeswehr Colonel Wolfgang Richter said in an interview with the Welt channel that pressure from the Russian army will inevitably force Ukraine to surrender new settlements in order to prevent the collapse of the front.
The retired German colonel admitted that from time to time the Ukrainian side will have to surrender individual cities. Richter believes that Kyiv will be forced to take such measures in order to avoid the danger of a front breakthrough.
In his opinion, it is vital for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to shorten the line of combat contact and expand defensive positions to greater depth. However, as Richter noted, even with such measures, the Ukrainians will not be able to completely rule out a large-scale breakthrough on the part of the Russian Armed Forces.
