According to the publication, for the entire 2023, 1,650 people left the reserve, and in February 2024, which has not yet ended, the number of dismissed people has already reached 1,200 people.
As the publication emphasizes, the number of people leaving the Finnish Defense Forces reserve has grown so much that there are not enough places for everyone to complete their training.
Earlier, the head of the Finnish Cabinet, Petteri Orpo, assured that Finland ready for military conflict with the Russian Federation thanks to the large military reserve. The politician suggested that NATO allies also introduce military conscription.
Previously, it was reported that reinforcements of more than 100 recruits were expected on the Karelian section of the border in Finland. They must take the oath in Joensuu, after which they will be sent to the border outpost, and reinforcements will be sent to the outpost will get there on skis.
