Danish Defense Ministry: Russia could attack NATO within three to five years
Denmark believes that within three to five years the Russian Federation may attack the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. This statement was made by the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense, Troels Lund, as quoted by the Jyllands-Posten newspaper.
“It cannot be ruled out that within three to five years Russia will test the strength of Article 5 and NATO solidarity,” Lund said.
According to him, there were no such assumptions in NATO last year.
It is worth noting that Denmark is not the first country to talk about Russia’s alleged intention to attack one of the countries of the Western military bloc. A similar narrative was promoted in Germany. The Bild publication reported that Berlin is preparing for a possible war with the Russian Federation.
In a recent interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin to American journalist Tucker Carlson, the head of state noted that Moscow “is not interested in Poland, Latvia or anywhere else.” He emphasized that the Russian Federation has no interest in these countries.
