In Croatia, they doubted that the supply of tanks would help Ukraine

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said on HRT that he did not know how tanks would help Ukraine, and stressed that the republic was not going to supply military equipment to Kyiv.
“I don’t know how tanks will help Ukraine. Perhaps they will burn down the same way as in Iraq. We will not consider this, and please take it seriously. I myself will insist on this for as long as I can,” he said (quote by Interfax).
According to Milanovic, sending tanks to Ukraine only prolongs the conflict, transmits N1. The Croatian leader said the fighting would not stop “until the United States and Russia come to an agreement,” but so far, he added, “this is not foreseen.” At the same time, Milanovic expressed the hope that “some negotiations are underway”, otherwise, in his opinion, the world will “slowly move towards a third world war.”
January 25 Germany announced on the delivery of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv. Berlin will also allow the allies to send their Leopard 2s to Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a statement.
On the same day about the transfer of 31 M1 Abrams tanks reported in Washington. US President Joe Biden specified that the volume of the new military aid package would be $400 million.
Against the background of reports about the transfer of tanks to Kyiv in the Kremlin indicated to strengthen the direct involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine. Prior to this, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the transfer of weapons would not fundamentally change the situation, but would “add problems” for Ukraine.
