The Crimean authorities will not spend budget money on festive events and decorations in honor of the New Year, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Konstantinov said.
“We live in a very difficult time. A special military operation is gaining momentum, active hostilities are underway. We shouldn’t be celebrating when our soldiers are risking their lives at the front. In this regard, with the head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, we decided this year not to use budget funds for festive events and decorations in honor of the New Year, ”— wrote in Telegram, Mr. Konstantinov.
According to the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the funds that were planned to be spent on preparing for the celebration of the New Year will be redirected to other needs. At the same time, Mr. Konstantinov admitted that in the municipalities of the region it is possible to provide for the minimum expenses of entrepreneurs and public figures, for example, for decorating a Christmas tree, but no more.
Vladimir Konstantinov also noted that due to the yellow level of terrorist threat in Crimea and the average level of response, it is not recommended to hold large children’s events. As for entrepreneurs, the speaker added, there are no restrictions for them, except for moral ones.
“Of course, you can hold entertainment events, but before that you should think about how appropriate it is at a time when our soldiers, our compatriots, fellow citizens are dying nearby. I would recommend not to do this,” the speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized.
In early October, the authorities of Sevastopol and Yalta reported the decision to review budget expenditures and spend the saved money on the needs of citizens mobilized into the army, the city leaders announced.
