As a result of the storm in Crimea, one person went missing and four were injured, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. A storm warning has been announced for November 25-27 in the republic due to heavy rains, snowfall and winds of up to 40 m/s.
“As a result of a complex of dangerous weather conditions, one person went missing and four people were injured. All night long, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations carried out continuous work to evacuate people from flooded houses and provide targeted assistance to the population,” the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported (quoted by TASS). 311 people, including 43 children, were evacuated from Yevpatoria and the Saki region.
Advisor to the head of the republic Oleg Kryuchkov appealed to residents with a request not to use personal transport to move around the streets of the peninsula. “Emergency teams from all services and special equipment are working,” he warned.
Due to the storm, about 500 thousand residents of Crimea remained without electricity. As a result of the consequences of the hurricane in Sevastopol suffered three persons. Dozens of trees were knocked down and roofs of houses were damaged. November 27 has been declared a non-working day for most Crimean social institutions.
