In Cheboksary, the teacher hit the girl in the stomach: why teachers resort to violence

This problem is social and generational, says the psychologist.

The end of the school year was marked by a wild incident in Cheboksary, where an angry teacher kicked a teenage girl in the stomach. The video of this incident not only spread throughout the country within an hour, but also became the reason for the immediate dismissal of the teacher from the school. The educational institution is checked by the IC, the prosecutor’s office and the local ministry of education. The public is once again wondering how violence has entered our schools. Who is to blame and what to do?

A three-second video from the social network is hard to watch. A middle-aged teacher with a cry: “Tired, got it!” beats a girl who is trying to sneak out of the class with her knee in the lower abdomen. She lets out a loud groan and backs off, but in pursuit she receives a couple more blows on the back from the teacher. From all over.

It is surprising that the very first commentators on the plot have no unity. And even the opinion “They brought her, the current kids are still provocateurs” and questions like “Why was the video cut off, what happened before?” prevail. For some reason, it never occurred to anyone, even women, that such a blow to the pelvic area could cost the girl reproductive health problems. Yes, and what kind of fashion has gone like this among teachers – to fight at school? ..

But, on duty, this question was asked by the director of school No. 35 Irina Solovieva, who conducted an internal internal investigation, as a result of which the pugnacious teacher was fired. The school has a regional investigative committee. The prosecutor’s office is also involved. “During the prosecutor’s check, the authenticity of the video recording will be established, as well as the detailed circumstances of the incident,” the ministry said. Prosecutors are going to check both the actions of the teacher and the school. Like the Ministry of Education of the Chuvash Republic, it will establish its own investigation.

School 35 in Cheboksary is in good standing, known as a school “with an artistic bias.” The only thing that immediately catches your eye is a large number of age teachers, 30 out of 50 people have an impressive teaching experience.

Neither parents nor children in school chats now find an explanation for what happened. The children themselves flatly refuse to admit that the teacher was “brought down” with something. “Yes, there was nothing like that at all,” says a classmate of the striker, Alana (name changed). They behaved approximately as usual, no one yelled, no swearing. The teacher freaked out at us, so they started filming. Called ignoramuses, parasites, idiots. She (the girl in the video) at that time just wanted to go out, then the “teacher” attacked. Nobody expected, really. She (the girl) had a phone in her hands, but not a knife, as they already write here. No one in the class was aggressive, that’s not true. Everyone was shocked afterwards.”

Another teenager from the same school, a class older, said that in the class “everyone is normal and there is nothing“ like that ”(the bullying of the teacher, presumably – author). And the teacher also “didn’t throw anything like that” before. And what happened now, no one can clearly explain.

“I think that generational problems should be added to all the problems of the modern school,” says family psychologist Maryana Razumovskaya. – Often, when such incidents are discussed, people will always be nostalgic for the old days when the teacher “had authority.” It was just default. For those who indulge in such reasoning, it does not matter that this authority was built not on respect or reverence, but on fear, on fear. Because in an authoritarian system of values, individualism is taboo. Then the society’s values ​​changed, swung towards freedom of manifestations and actions. And the teachers of the old formation remained as they were.

The main problem is not that the children have loosened their belts, have become harmful provocateurs who do not put a penny and do not appreciate teachers. And the fact that social attitudes have changed, but due to age, children and adolescents are not yet able to understand that any freedom and democracy are responsible for words and deeds. And responsibility is measured exactly as much as rights and freedoms. Therefore, of course, the school as a public institution needs new rules of conduct, new rules of the game. In which children do not walk in formation, but understand and accept the interests of the teacher.
