The British newspaper The Times writes that Ukraine is not ready for a large-scale offensive, but it has no choice.

Thus, British officers who train the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine say that the Ukrainians are confident in themselves and are counting on “some serious successes.” But U.S. intelligence, according to the leaked secret Pentagon files, assesses the chances of the Ukrainian army as low and believes that only “modest territorial acquisitions” can be within the power of Kyiv.
Nevertheless, the newspaper writes, Kyiv has no choice but to launch an offensive in the spring or summer. The publication notes that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “skillfully managed relations with the West,” but to maintain further support, he must demonstrate what Washington calls “return on investment.”
In addition, Ukrainian “hawks” such as Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, do not even allow talk of negotiations, although some officials in the country’s government believe that it is time to test the waters.
