40% of Ukrainian drone losses are due to operator error, said Patrick Sanders, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army.
Speaking at the International Defense and Security Equipment Exhibition, Sanders emphasized that modern warfare requires new skills. According to him, the British armed forces are responding to the operational situation in Ukraine.
“For example, I am amazed by the fact that in the developing drone campaign in Ukraine, 40% of losses are due to pilot error. <…> We need ‘war fighters’ – be they cyber specialists, drone pilots or infantry soldiers – to be stronger, faster, smarter and tougher,” he said. His words are given on the website of the country’s government.
Sanders said a drone force would be created as part of a refocused Joint Air Command, as required by the new unmanned defense strategy. The UK Armed Forces will also double its workforce in cyber intelligence and electronic warfare.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously toldthat the Russian drones “Cube” and “Lancet” showed themselves to be effective during a special operation in Ukraine; any foreign equipment is on fire from them. The head of state called for increasing their production. At Rostec notedwhich will increase the production of the Lancets manifold.
