Activists of the environmental movement Letzte Generation (“Last Generation”), as a protest, glued themselves to a highway in Berlin, thereby blocking traffic, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the DPA agency.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. Several activists have glued themselves to the road at Potsdamer Platz in central Berlin. Traffic was completely stopped.

However, the protesters failed to complete their plan. As reported by the Daily Mail, spilling glue from buckets, they sat down in the resulting puddle. But due to the sub-zero air temperature, the properties of the glue collapsed and it did not work. The police dragged the activists to the sidewalk.

In November, representatives of the Letzte Generation poured oil on Austrian artist Gustav Klimt’s painting “Death and Life” at the Leopold Museum in Vienna. The moment of action was filmed. The footage shows how one man splashed oil from a canister onto the painting, while another glued himself to it. The activists were detained by the museum security. The canvas, which was under the protective glass, was not damaged.
