According to RTL TV channel, in the Belgian city of Oudenaarde in the province of East Flanders, a storm wind knocked over a Christmas tree.
As the mayor of the city, Marnik de Melemester, told reporters, a twenty-meter-tall spruce tree collapsed due to a strong gust of wind.
“As a result of the emergency, one person died, two more were injured. The victims were hospitalized,” the message says.
It is clarified that after the collapse of the Christmas tree, the city authorities decided to close the holiday fair.
