In autumn, the Cup on unmanned aerial systems will be held in Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin called the main task in the development of the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) “the creation of the necessary level of technological sovereignty.” To attract young people to the industry, it was decided to hold the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Cup in the capital. The main prize is the Moskvich electric car.
Mr. Sobyanin toldthat the competition will be held in several disciplines: collecting a copter for a while, drone basketball, high-speed autonomous passage of a previously known track, autonomous passage of a labyrinth, drone race. Applications are now being accepted. The second stage of selection will be held on July 29-30 in Novosibirsk. The final will take place in the fall in the capital’s industrial park “Rudnevo”.
According to the mayor, UAV production in Moscow has more than quadrupled. From May 3 in the capital valid a ban on the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles. An exception was made for UAVs used by decision of state authorities.
In June the government approved Strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft until 2030. President Vladimir Putin suggested teach drone control in schools. Ministry of Education and Science plans train up to 180 thousand students in the field of ALS by 2030.
