In Arkhangelsk, the premises of the Kaskad sports school will be renovated

Sports school “Cascade” is the center of sports development in the Oktyabrsky district of Arkhangelsk. Now the school building, located on Gaidar Street, is undergoing a major overhaul. After completion of the work, a gym and fitness rooms and a martial arts room will be opened here, which will attract more Arkhangelsk residents to sports.

In one of the branches of the Kaskad school, in the building on Priorov Avenue, a martial arts gym is equipped, which is included in the register of sports facilities of the Ministry of Sports of Russia. Official competitions in judo, jiu-jitsu, hapkido, kudo and other sports are held on the basis of the school.

One of the most popular sports in the institution is boxing. Here they are engaged in 113 people. Athletes participate in competitions at the municipal, regional and federal levels. Now boxers train on carpet (tatami), which does not meet federal boxing standards in the Russian Federation. Since February 1, 2023, the sports school has been given premises for boxing in the building on Uritsky Street, but it also needs to be renovated.

– In the premises transferred to us, we plan to place a gym and set up a ring. We have already completely cleared the premises of debris, and preparatory work can already be carried out there, – said Tatiana Korshunova, director of the Kaskad sports school.

The preliminary cost of repair work is 13-15 million rubles, the exact amount will be determined after the development of design and estimate documentation. Alexander Tsybulsky instructed the head of Arkhangelsk, Dmitry Morev, to prepare it before the end of the year, and the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region to assist the city administration in finding a source of financing for repair work and subsequently take control of their implementation. After the repair in the building on Uritskogo street, about 100 additional boxers will be able to practice boxing in it.

– It is necessary to plan the repair work in this building, – Alexander Tsybulsky addressed the head of Arkhangelsk Dmitry Morev. – Trainings and competitions should be held first of all in comfortable conditions for athletes. I ask you to submit proposals on the amount of necessary funding and the list of works.

The main goal of all the planned work to bring the buildings of the sports school in order is to involve as many children and teenagers as possible in sports, and for this it is necessary to create good conditions, stressed Alexander Tsybulsky.
