In 2023, Russians will spend an average of 5,802 rubles on a date on Valentine’s Day. During the year, this figure increased by 14%. Spending on a February 14 date has grown by 35% over the past five years. This was reported in the press service of Tinkoff Bank.
Residents of Moscow will spend the most on a date – there it will cost an average of 8675 rubles. Spending by residents of St. Petersburg will average 6501 rubles, Krasnodar – 6485 rubles. Among the leaders in terms of the cost of a date are also Rostov-on-Don (5957 rubles), Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk (5826 rubles each). The cheapest date on Valentine’s Day will be in Perm – an average of 4,629 rubles will be spent on it there.
Spending on a date will grow the most in Omsk (+18%) and Krasnodar (+17%). The price of a date will go up the least in Voronezh and Chelyabinsk – in these cities, its cost has increased by only 11%. As explained in Tinkoff Bank, the cost of a date increased due to an increase in the average check in public catering by 25%.
By data service Superjob, Valentine’s Day will not be celebrated either at home or at work 76% of Russians. 13% of Russians plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home, and 6% at work. 36% of men in a marriage or relationship are going to give flowers to their wives and girlfriends.
