Izvestia: imported eggs did not reach Russian retail chains
According to information from the Izvestia publication, eggs imported from abroad to Russia can be processed to support production at industrial enterprises. Economist Oleg Pavlov notes that Turkey is not a reliable partner and supplier of eggs due to the blocking of Russian business accounts. However, the import of foreign eggs did not have a significant impact on egg prices in Russia, which returned to normal levels thanks to measures taken in the market sector.
In addition, from February 1, 2024, new laws will come into force in Russia, according to which maternity capital and benefits will be increased, and debt repayment will be carried out in a new way. Analysts note that during the week from January 16 to January 22, 2024, prices for chicken eggs and chicken meat in Russia decreased by 1.4% and 0.8%, respectively, and prices for other goods also decreased.
