The Meshchansky Court of Moscow found the opposition leader and former metropolitan municipal deputy Ilya Yashin (recognized as a foreign agent) guilty of spreading fakes about the RF Armed Forces (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigation believes that in April, Ilya Yashin, live on his YouTube channel, “spread deliberately false information about the commission of the RF Armed Forces to kill civilians in the city of Bucha.” Mr. Yashin pleaded not guilty.
A criminal case against him was opened on 12 July. He has been in jail since the summer. On December 5, prosecutor Sergei Belov, during the debate of the parties, asked Mr. Yashin for nine years in a penal colony. The prosecutor also asked to be banned from administering Internet resources for four years.
