IIHF will consider admitting teams from Russia and Belarus to their tournaments

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in May will study the possibility of resuming the participation of the national teams of Russia and Belarus in tournaments under its auspices. This was announced by the head of the organization Luc Tardif.
“I confirm that such a decision will be made at the congress in Finland in May,” Mr. Tardif said in a conversation with TASS.
The IIHF suspended the participation of Russian and Belarusian teams and clubs at the end of February amid the military operation in Ukraine. The decision is valid until further notice. The Ice Hockey World Championship in 2023 will be held from 12 to 28 May in Riga and Tampere, Finland. AT published there is no list of participants in the 2024 Youth World Championship of Russia and Belarus.
