IBU Cup kickoff stage postponed due to lack of snow

The International Biathlon Union announced the cancellation of the starting stage of the IBU-2022/23 Cup in Shushen (Norway). The decision was explained by the lack of snow. Competitions were to be held from 24 to 27 November.
“The Executive Committee received information from the Norwegian Biathlon Federation that the IBU Cup in Shushen could not be held due to the difficult weather situation and the lack of snow,” according to website IBU. In this regard, the season will begin in Idre (Sweden) and will be held from November 29 to December 4.
The 2022/23 IBU Biathlon Cup includes nine rounds. The season will end on March 4 in Canmore, Canada. Competitions will also be held in Italy, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Finland. The IBU suspended Russian athletes from participation in international competitions after the start of a special operation in Ukraine.
