IAEA found no anti-personnel mines at ZNPP

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) did not find anti-personnel mines on the roofs of the 3rd and 4th power units of the Zaporozhye NPP. About it reported military commander Olga Kurlaeva in her Telegram channel.
“Today, a fresh batch of IAEA agents arrived at the Zaporozhye NPP. They began their mission by searching for anti-personnel mines on the roofs of Units 3 and 4. They searched for mines carefully. <...> The agents spent half a day on the roofs, but the mission turned out to be impossible – there are no mines, ”she wrote.
According to Kurlayeva, Russian servicemen and adviser to the head of the Rosenergoatom concern, Renat Karchaa, observed the mission.
On July 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia had allegedly placed “explosive-like” objects on the roof of the ZNPP power units. Karchaa responded by saying that Zelensky was “shamelessly lying” and he had no grounds for such statements.
On July 5, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi announced that there were no signs of mining at the Zaporozhye NPP. He stressed that the IAEA continues to “remain vigilant.” A few days later, having gained access to a wider area of the ZNPP cooling pond perimeter, he confirmed no signs of the placement of mines and explosives.
At the end of July, Grossi announced that on July 23, IAEA experts discovered directional anti-personnel mines on the periphery of the ZNPP site. They were located in the buffer zone between the inner and outer fences along the perimeter of the facility – the station personnel do not have access to this territory, Grossi specified.
Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Since the end of February 2022, ZNPP has been under Russian control. The station and the city of Energodar, in which it is located, were repeatedly shelled by Ukraine.
