As informs The Wall Street Journal, the head of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi, during his visit to Ukraine, which is scheduled for next week, intends to expand the work of international inspectors at all nuclear power plants in the country.
It is specified that this measure should significantly expand the presence of the regulator after several months of attacks on power plants.
“Grossi plans to deploy two or three inspectors at the South Ukrainian, Rivne and Khmelnitsky power plants. Power lines to the last two plants were damaged by rocket fire on November 15, leaving both plants in crisis. The inspectors will also go to Chernobyl, .. .where dangerous radioactive materials are still stored,” sources from Western diplomats and officials in Kyiv told the publication.
