The first coach of 20-year-old short speed skater Anastasia Sereda, who died of the flu, spoke about her. According to Marina Yashina, Anastasia came to short track speed skating at the age of six, she worked and trained very hard.
“Nastenka was my first star who won all the competitions. She was such a girl for us. I found her at Christmas, she left us at Christmas,” said Yashina, her words are quoted as REN TV.
According to her, Anastasia was a leader in character from her youth, but at the same time remained calm, reserved and modest.
“I worked very hard. Maybe it was against this backdrop that everything happened,” the coach suggested.
Anastasia spent a month in a coma. Due to complications, she developed cerebral edema; they could not save the athlete.
