“She kept saying: “I want to go to Max.”

Celebrities are mourning the passing of Svetlana Morgunova. The legendary announcer died in her apartment at the age of 85. Klara Novikova was friends with Morgunova for many years. She knew that the TV personality was sick and tried to support her in everything. Klara Borisovna told MK correspondents about the main tragedy in Morgunova’s life, as well as where she wanted to be buried.

“Svetlana Mikhailovna was very smart and wise,” Klara Borisovna sighs. “She had a great command of words. Her voice timbre was completely state-like: she conducted concerts amazingly. She didn’t just formally announce some numbers: she approached each artist with attitude. She gave any concert significance. In life she was a laugher, very cheerful. She was also a big fashionista and loved hats.

“After her son Maxim died, Sveta immediately gave up,” Novikova continues. “She kept saying: “I want to go to Max.” I persuaded her: “Svetochka, we need you here. You must pray for him. The time will come, and you will be with Maxim.” But she didn’t listen to anyone: “No, I have to be with Maksyusha.” Sometimes I called her, and she asked me: “Klarusya, do you know that Max is not here?” I said: “Of course I know, Svetusya, I know…”

“We’ve been communicating less lately, for a well-known reason,” says Klara Borisovna. – A few years ago it was her birthday. I dragged myself with a basket of various goodies. She was happy!

Novikova believes that there is no point in talking about the delay in Morgunova’s funeral. According to Klara Borisovna, the main thing is to see off the legendary TV personality on her last journey with dignity.

“I just recently spoke with Lenochka, Sveta’s daughter-in-law,” Klara Borisovna continues. – You understand, there are so many worries. We need to get a place… Svetlana Mikhailovna wanted to be buried next to Maxim. I hope her wish comes true.
