Former Spartak footballer Dmitry Khlestov told the publication “RB Sport“, that I would really like Stanislav Cherchesov and Dmitry Alenichev to return to the Russian championship.
“We need to bring our own back. I’m now against foreign coaches in Russia, we have our own specialists,” Khlestov said.
Stanislav Cherchesov coached Spartak Moscow from 2006 to 2008. At the Moscow club, Cherchesov introduced a system of fines. Players were prohibited from using cell phones in the cafeteria and locker room. They were also fined for being overweight.
From 2016 to 2021, Cherchesov was the head coach of the Russian national football team.
In December 2021, the Hungarian club Ferencvaros announced the appointment of Cherchesov as the team’s head coach.
On July 19, 2023, he was fired from the post of head coach of Ferencváros after a defeat to the Faroese club KI Klaksvik with a score of 0:3 and elimination from the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
Dmitry Alenichev was the head coach of Spartak for only one year, now his coaching career is on pause.
