Hydrometeorological Center predicts “dangerous temperature” in several regions in the coming days

The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that in the coming days in Yakutia and the Magadan region it will get colder to -50 ° C. Also, frosts are expected in the Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Sverdlovsk, Omsk regions, Komi, Altai Territory and several other regions. He noted that there will be “dangerous weather in terms of temperature.”
In particular, in the Arkhangelsk region, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Komi and the Murmansk region, until December 10–11, the temperature is forecast to be 7–11°C below normal: in these regions it will be from 26 to 30 degrees below zero. In the Volga Federal District, -20 … -21 ° С is expected, which Mr. Vilfand also called an anomaly.
In the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Tyumen regions on December 7 and 8, the temperature will drop to -29°C, which is 8-14 degrees below normal. Also, frosts down to –27…–34°С are predicted in the southern regions of Western Siberia. “The cold will be in the south of Western Siberia – Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo regions and Altai Territory. Here, from December 7 to 11, the temperature is predicted to be 7-16 degrees below the climatic norm,” the head of the Hydrometeorological Center told TASS.
In Moscow today, December 7, predicted –5…–7°С (in the Moscow region –5…–10°С) cloudy with clearings, icy patches in places. On December 8, a slight warming is expected in the capital to -3 … -5 ° С and snow (in the region -2 … -7 ° С).
