Extremely high risks of fires (fourth and fifth classes of fire hazard) in the coming days will be in 12 Russian regions. This forecast was voiced by Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.
The fourth class of fire hazard is predicted in the southeast of the Volga Federal District and in the south of the Urals. The fifth fire hazard class is in Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Samara, Orenburg, Tyumen, Kurgan, Omsk, Tomsk, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk regions, Altai Territory, in the south of the Sverdlovsk region.
“Now such classes say that if a person, as a result of negligence or intent, creates the conditions for a fire, nature will contribute to its spread,” the scientific instructor of the Hydrometeorological Center said (TASS quote).
As of May 10, only in the regions of the Urals Federal District, 80 fires are burning on an area of 113.5 thousand hectares. The largest fire on an area of 100 thousand hectares is in the Sverdlovsk region.
